A Russian Millionaire Is Showing Some Initiative With A Hunger Games Show Where Contestants Can Murder And Sexually Assault Each Other
The Sun – Contestants from different countries seeking a £1.3 million prize will be issued with knives but not guns and expected to hunt and fish for food to stay alive.
The shocking rules say: “Everything is allowed. Fighting, alcohol, murder, rape, smoking, anything.”
Russian millionaire Yevgeny Pyatkovsky, 35, is the brains behind the extreme contest – but says the show won’t take responsibility for what happens to the contestants.
He said: “We will refuse any claim of participants even if they were to be killed or raped. We will have nothing to do with this. This will be spelt out in a document to be signed by the participant before the start of the show.”
Called “Game2: Winter”, the participants – who must be over 18 and “mentally sane” – are expected to fork out £132,000 to take part, although some will be selected in an online poll and enter for free.
“There will be no film crew – the whole area will be dotted with cameras and each participant will be carrying a portable camera with seven-hour life rechargeable battery,” said Mr Pyatkovsky.
First of all: Good job by the shocking rules closing with “smoking” as the thing that contestants can do. Yeah the murder and rape weren’t big enough gets, gotta close with the headliner of enjoying a relaxing hit of nicotine after. But overall this seems like an overdue evolution in our world turning to a bag of shit. It’s frankly about due that some soulless millionaire decided to use their wealth for something besides boring shit like creating more wealth or trickle down economics and instead just decided to do some evil shit with it. Martin Shkreli is as close as it’s gotten before and what’s he doing? Buying Wu Tang albums? Try offering someone $1,000 to lick shit off your shoes or organizing real life Mortal Kombat and then we’ll talk real wealth-based villainy.
But this right here? This is some straight from the movies shit and I love it. I can’t find much else about this Yevgeny Pyatkovsky online (bit of a red flag if I’m considering putting myself out there for this show in the hopes of millions but then again would you want to be easily found if you’re a wealthy dude making a show brazenly advertising murder and rape in the Siberian wild as the hook? Good point Spags) but him embracing decades of evil rich men in film and television and bringing it to the real world is a gift to us all if you can get past the awful devaluation of human life blah blah. Would I watch it? Probably not, bit fucked up. But will I read about it in abject horror as some sort of sociology experiment? Most definitely. Gotta push the boundaries of humanity sometime and only wealthy supervillains like Yevgeny Pyatkovsky or some other dude reenacting Robert Redford’s role in Indecent Proposal can be the ones to get us there.
Oh and there is one helpful caveat so we can all think about this fairly without taking a shower:
“The Russian police will come”
